We're Back!
After an incredible first year, Vertical Showdown returns for its second annual competition on November 21, 2026! ( SATURDAY )
This year, 6 teams of 3–4 rope access technicians will battle it out in a series of technical rope access scenarios, testing their rigging, rescue, problem-solving, and teamwork skills for a chance to be crowned the Vertical Showdown Champions.
Competition Format
- 6 Teams (3–4 technicians per team)
- Minimum 1 Level 3 per team
- 30-minute planning period
- 1-hour scenario execution
- Multiple scored scenarios
- Top teams advance to the Final Showdown
- Judged by industry professionals sponsored by Petzl
Who Can Compete?
All participants must:
- Hold a valid SPRAT or IRATA certification
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Present current certifications and logbooks
- Bring their own rope access kit
Note: Scenarios may involve advanced rigging and rescue skills requiring Level 3 competencies.

Team Requirements
- Teams must consist of 3–4 certified rope access technicians
- Each team must include at least one current Level 3 technician
- All team members must hold current SPRAT and/or IRATA certifications
